Autohorn Fleet Services offers three levels of vehicle protection: Basic Protection, Medium Protection, and Full Protection. Each package provides varying levels of cover and corresponding reductions to the hirer’s financial liability (excess).
1. Basic Protection Cover
Basic Protection is included as standard within the quoted rental price. This cover limits the hirer’s financial liability in the event of damage to, or loss of, the vehicle resulting from collision, theft, or attempted theft.
- An excess of £1,600.00 applies in the event of damage or total loss.
- An excess of £1,600.00 applies in the event of theft.
- Where the vehicle is both stolen and subsequently declared a total loss, the hirer shall remain liable for a combined excess of up to £3,200.00.
Basic Protection is a mandatory element of all rental agreements.
2. Medium Protection Cover
Available at £16.00 per day in addition to the daily rental.
The Medium Protection package reduces the hirer’s financial liability for damage, theft, or attempted theft by 50%.
This package additionally extends cover to include damage to the windscreen, headlights, and tyres.
To maintain the validity of this cover, the hirer is required to report any incidents immediately and obtain all relevant third-party details. Failure to comply with these obligations may result in invalidation of the cover, and the hirer will remain liable for the full excess amount
3. Full Protection Cover
Available at £21.00 per day in addition to the daily rental.
The Full Protection package reduces the hirer’s financial liability for damage, theft, or attempted theft by 100%.
This package additionally extends cover to include damage to the windscreen, headlights, and tyres.
To maintain the validity of this cover, the hirer is required to report any incidents immediately and obtain all relevant third-party details. Failure to comply with these obligations may result in invalidation of the cover, and the hirer will remain liable for the full excess amount.
4. Important Information
In circumstances where damage to the vehicle is determined to be malicious, Autohorn Fleet Services reserves the right to withdraw either the Medium or Full Protection cover without refund.
For the purposes of these terms, malicious damage refers to any intentional act of harm or vandalism caused to the vehicle, as opposed to accidental or incidental damage arising from normal use.
For commercial vehicles, the protection package excludes coverage for any damage to areas located above the cab or on the roof.
